Why not? Reset starts 7 days from the beginning of last restart. If he has it setup correctly, he can always get a legal restart after every 4 day run.

If he's only doing that one run a week yes. We need more information from the OP.

Are you on paper or eobr ? Eobr will work on recap until 168 hrs and 2 days off duty or sleeper between the hrs of 1am and 5am are met.. at least that's the way it works for me on 70 in 8

Even on elog....you can still get the legal restart every week only working the 4 days. But, that has to be the only thing he is doing.

Ok one more question. If my duty starts from Tuesday 12pm and ends on next Tuesday 12PM (65 hours). When should I take my 34 hours rest?
    I didn't pass 70 hours in 7 days.

Also, policeman will look at 70 hours in the past 7 days or 8 days?

DOT will look to make sure you did not work more than 70 hours in the past 8 days.

It is 70hrs in 8 days.

The restart is optional. It is possible to drive everyday and not do a restart. I have gone as long a 6 weeks without a restart.

I do the restart when I have absolutely 0 hours available and no recaps, i get stuck at shipper, i can sneak one in on a load, i get sick, or major breakdown.

    bergy Thanks this.

Logs - 7 prrevious days plus the day you're on ( 8 ) - i consider 00:00 to 00:00 ( 24 hrs ) the following. day part of the 168 hrs.. eobr tends to caculates it different.. on 8th day . and any time after a restart can be had provided one meets the 2 days between the hrs of 1am and 5am in sleeper or off duty.. if those two days aren't met with-in the next 7 days as well, you'll ineed to include them in a restart.. do not start work on the final day of a restart before 5am or you will lose it..
