Did I not have to show when I went to the dock from the parking lot on the first day? I also needed to have as much time as possible to drive on day #2 after that load finished loading at 17:00. What if I slept until 11:00 on day #2 and then drove to the reciever. What would you do to make this work?

To be honest I've never heard of anyone showing on a log moving from a parking lot to a dock. If you need as much time as possible on day 2 I wouldn't advise sleeping in because you better off keeping it simple and tight. If I understand right we got to receiver/shipper number #2 on day #2 at 0715 if that's the case I would simply move to line 1 and stay there until 1715 then I'd have fresh 14hr to work off of. Keep in mind it's rare that a shipper take 10hrs to load a truck. I'd expect maybe an hour at a shipper/receiver. Also, its your duty as a professional driver not too sleep in and be at your shippers/receivers when they open the business up that day. I mean I can tell you from experience, to sleep as much as you suggested in the past 2 days is rare and you should expect to get 1/2 that if that.

NO, got to shipper reciever #2 on day #2 at 12:30. First load BOL showed received at 00:45. No time shown when unload was complete at 05:00.

Oh, I see. You see the problem with this hypothetical situations is we could go one all day with them. What all this is going to come down to is good trip planning and not screwing around when it's time to work. The important thing to remember is its not hard to get in violation but you'll certainly pay to get out of one. You'll quickly figure out how to run a log book when you started trucking. Now to answer your question it would have to be shown like below. From what I was taught and have practiced; if a BOL is time stamped you have to show being at the location at that time on lines 1, 2, or 4.
