Alright Truckers,
Been working this local job, pay by the hour, overtime and double time on the paycheck consistently, looking to gross over 100k as a company driver.
Currently living in the truck no rent only storage fee. Think about either putting a hefty down payment on a house in CA, or putting a down payment on a truck.
House or a Semi ???

No brainer. Stack your money. You only do trucking until your body breaks or you managed to DAC yourself out of the industry or some other stupid problem.
Don;t buy anything for a while. Maybe 10 years if you are that lucky. Stack stack stack. When the trucking is all over, you are at that time in life later will understand that you can buy a home, land and pick your spot anywhere in the USA for cash. And maybe enough left over for some kind of tractor at the used dealer to play Owner Operator with the accumulated knowledge of the industry by then. (As a company driver paying attention to everything)mitmaks, rachi, Just passing by and 1 other person Thank this. -
Buy a house! Making the kind of money you are making driving for someone else you can use the interest as a deduction on your taxes.

House all the way. House holds equity, land underneath is always worth something. Trucks not so much. You can also rent out your house a lot easier than a truck.
YoungBloodTrucker and Just passing by Thank this. -
You can buy a house, pay it off buy another, pay it off, buy another and another until you have money like our Presidente.
Then you can retire to a lavish tropical island that you own, with the Island girls Fanning you, massaging you, servicing you with drinks and whatever else would be your pleasure. You will live every man's dream and have all things in life with a snap of your fingers. All women will want you and all men will want to be you!
Or you can buy a truck, possibly or even probably go broke, and not even have a home to live in.
A truck or Fantasy Island?
Easy choice.Aamcotrans and YoungBloodTrucker Thank this. -
Keep on Trucking, and saving. Don’t buy either, yet. Wait for the next housing correction. Cash is King, when that happens. It’s almost there now. Big bubble about to burst, especially in hot overpriced markets, like Ca. Az. and any other market that saw huge rebounds. The old saying, Real Estate never goes down, is a myth. It’s happened quite a few times, and will again. Wait for a Buyers market. It won’t be long, 3-4 yrs tops.
Aamcotrans, YoungBloodTrucker, mitmaks and 3 others Thank this. -
trucking equipment DE-VALUATES over time, and you actually end up losing in the end.YoungBloodTrucker, Sirscrapntruckalot, Just passing by and 1 other person Thank this. -
And when saving money do not run off marrying the first gold digger. When she finds out what you really got....
Its a price to pay while stacking.YoungBloodTrucker and buddyd157 Thank this. -
