So what law did they violate in order to be sued?

They have the right to set the guidelines for a job.

I'm talking about the ones who are already employed.

    That's not against the law.

It's against the law to be over weight.

    Paragraph 3
    Page 1371
    Subsection 10001
    Appendage a. and b.

Of the new health care bill.

To fat to drive, dummy... Fred G. Sanford.. :laughing3:
G stands for Go on a diet or Get ready to see 3/4 of truckers signing up for disabled.. :help:

Never should've allowed truck drivers to have food in their vehicles, much less a fridge and microwave..
Where are they gonna find another job riding around eatin all day.. :naka:

They'll have to get rid of trucks with mechanical engines first, that means getting rid of trucks as late as mid-nineties and all previous..
Shhitt like that won't fly around here like it did in shaky.. :smt066

A device of this nature has to be tamper proof or what's the point anyway.. Otherwise it's inadmissable in court just a polygraph.. (Liar Detector) :smt064
All computers are susceptible to being hacked when there is enough reason or demand to do it..
I bet when EOBR's are required you'll see counter programing to compromise the technology pronto.. :idea1:

For the computer friendly cheaters this might be less hassel than the current loose leaf log system.. :smt024

I know very few drivers (1 or 2) who could "hack" the mainframe at their terminal. And that's what would have to happen. Hell most of them do good to figure out their log book at the end of the day.

I do know that the E-logs can be manipulated "at" the terminal. Or at least Werner could do it, when they needed a driver to have another couple of hours.

A simple piss off, from the driver can fix that.

More often than not. A driver or office personnel will need a quick fix, and they fail to back track through the errors caused by their "hack".

ALL of the guys on this forum who have backgrounds in programming or accounting will tell you. You can not manipulate a single line of code or output, without changing something else in another area. (modules not withstanding)

You always have to clean up the trash you left lying around :D

Yeah I'm in total agreement with you on most drivers being a DA.. I'm a part-time driver too but I was mostly speaking from an o/o's point of view on this, where the bickering between the driver, dispatcher and company safety department and management all goes on in my head.. I'm more concerned about this stuff while acting as company safety director..

I expect any hackers who would be able to create the program or device needed to manipulate or compromise an EOBR'S security is not associated with truckers at any level except for providing the overall industry a service for alot of $$$..
I've always heard that microsoft lets out the biggest part of the viruses that'll fubar windows..
It'd almost take the ability to design an EOBR to be able to create the tools needed for adjusting or "tuning" one.. I'm not really concerned with drivers hacking into their companies elogs, they're out to get screwed over at a company like werner anyway..

EOBR's will be downloaded any time a company or driver is in question whether the recorded information is relevant or not.. In the event of a serious accident the company will be in the same boat as the driver..

There's no shortage of drivers on here claiming to run perfectly legal, but in the event of a truck-related fatality their EOBR's will be downloaded as to check their driving habits.. I don't think many of those driver would be nearly as confident with their EOBR in the hands of an ambulance chasing lawyer and facing imprisonment for say vehicular manslaughter..

When you're recording fault codes for hard braking every time a dog runs out in the road, or a brake liner gets a little out of adjustment, or the motor overspeeds going off a hill, alot of what happens everyday in this buisness on a normal day will not be in your favor when it gets taken out of a context by a good ambulance chaser..

Truer words, never spoken. It's all about covering their ###.

But it didn't help Swift in the least, with their "blame the driver" court room argument just recently. It's gonna cost them almost $20 million.

Funny thing is....When I was eating in cafe's and not eating my own food in my truck, I started gaining weight!
When I started stocking my refrigerator and cooking my own meals and not drinking so much soda pop and eating so much fried food...I started loosing weight!

In the last 5 months I have dropped almost 60 pounds.
It isn't about access to food, It's about self control and making smarter choices!

Most of the fat slobs that you see waddling around at the truckstops are not the ones that you see grillin' their food in the back row and cooking in their trucks...They'tr usually the ones you see waddling out of the C-Store with a pizza and a 5,000 ounce soda and 2 bags of potato chips & donuts.
