    I agree and find it to be totally pathetic. Drivers today seem scared (redacted)less to confront these carriers that disrespect drivers like this. I would NEVER drive a truck without an APU! That tractor is a driver's home for an average of 300+ days a year. NO way am I going to put up with that (redacted). I also refused to operate equipment I deemed unsafe and NOBODY overrode me! This is one reason this industry has become what it is today. These carriers know these new drivers will drive whatever they are assigned without question. Jeez, I'm sorry about that rant! But your comment pushed a button this morning!

    Some companies have Electric APU. My truck has 8 batteries to run the inverter and electric a/c for sleeper and heater. When the batteries get to 12.2 volts the computers start the truck engine for 2 hours to recharge.

    I think the Diesel APUs are so expensive at $12,000 plus repairs and the fuel they burn. Lots of company won't buy them
