There are some decent companies out here...but in your situation being a newbie or wannabe..you still have the initial start up rookie time to get behind you...after the first 9 months or year, you can start looking into the small companies that see you as an employee with a name, not just another number and replaceable by any other new school graduate.
Keep your eyes and ears open, it can be done. I drive for DHE in your area and very happy with the company, but you need to get the beginner time behind you! Good Luck!!
how bad did i mess up

Yeah, I've been approved by Central Refrigerated and start training down there October 12. There are a couple companies I am looking at after I finish a year with them (assuming I don't like it at Central), I am looking at Crete if I still want to do OTR, and Market Transport, Ltd. if I want to go to a more regional carrier.
-
BTW, otherhalf are you LTL or TL with DHE?
-
Then you will be part of the Swift family...
-
TL...do I know you?
-
not that I know of, was just asking, because I see DHE trucks all the time...the LTL division has delivered a few times to my place of work
-
thanks for all your thoughts and helping me figure out my next step.ohh by the way i have my class a cdl for over 20 years but i have only drove dump trucks, trash trucks, heavy equipment.

I've got apps into Prime and Watkins Shepard as well but I haven't heard back yet...Prime is on a hiring freeze in the West right now and I got VM at W/S. From what I've heard and read around here is that Central is owned by the same guy as Swift, but they seem to treat their drivers better. I still have a lot of time to make a definite decision on where I go or what I do.

Just my two cents. -
I want you to call OOIDA and talk to a person in there legal dept...You can type into your browser OOIDA for the number..
