Pittsburg is the pitts but NYC is a joke
NYC is the worst and nothing is close, I don't care what anybody says.
Why do you think all these companies offer no forced dispatch there AND offer more $ if you go?
Nobody wants to go because it's the worst, that place is a nightmare for a 4 wheeler in of itself!
How bad is NYC really?

NYC isn't bad. A lot of the stories are made up by some hillbillies who've never been there. In all reality, you'll find many drivers (myself included) who will run NYC all day long. Chicago and Pittsburgh are far worse than NYC on their best day.
Shaggy Thanks this. -
Folks forget, Pittsburgh and Chicago roads are built with many bridges ( Including Railroad / Low underpasses / tunnels ). Sure NYC has a enormous population compared to Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is the worlds #2 city surrounded with bridges, We have something like 1700 bridges in Pittsburgh Metro. It's a headache if 1 goes down for maintenance or limited access for weight and that's just NON Commercial headache. The infrastructure surrounding those bridges is outdated and nothing is easy for tractor trailers.
Have fun trying to turn around somewhere or sleeping for the night.
Clarify: The short on/off ramps, Narrow roads, Signage sucks and construction 24/7.
The only great thing is. The populace is low and could be worse. Not complaining. Folks have it worse then me.
NYC and Pittsburgh have it's unique problems. but to place in same sentence is kinda odd.Last edited: Oct 9, 2014

This is some serious bs. NYC is the worst city to drive in the entire country.freightwipper Thanks this.

NYC and Pittsburgh apples and oranges. Pittsburgh has it's unique problems. Comparing it to NYC is off base.

Chicago is easy compared to NYC saying chicago is worse then NYC tells me you never been to both cities. Pittsburg is an old city built in the applachian mountains making it not ideal for heavy truck traffic but it doesn't come close to the chaos of NYC. No company advertises "No Pittsburgh" however they do advertise "No NYC" there is a reason for that. The reason being NYC is a the biggest ****hole in the country.freightwipper and Shaggy Thank this.

No it's not. I driven through both so I can make the comparison.Shaggy Thanks this.

I work in pittsburgh, comparing NYC to it is no comparison. NYC sucks.
I think we are agreeing. lol

When I started my career, kid, I was always in NYC. NYC is where I learned how to deal with every other city. I feel safe in NYC. Can't say that for Chicago. Sure there are tight places in NYC. Stop being scared and put your man pants on. New York isn't the horror story you people make it out to be.
