I went into Pittsburgh once and coming out there was a detour. All I can say is thank god I was bobtailing out. I have no idea how I would have made it otherwise. NYC is no picnic either but I would take NYC over Pitt any day.

NYC ain't scary. Like others said just plan your trip using your atlas and Google maps helps a lot to. If you have your customers phone # call ahead and see if they have any special instructions for you. I have been there many times with no issues. I had a regular run to middle village I did almost every week. Just say NYC at my home terminal and watch how many grown men you can scare with 3 little letters hahaha! Oh and I live on a farm in Kansas.

Well, I'm guessing you never tried going from Trenton Nj to Richmond Va during the day. Been there, done that. When it takes 4.5 hours to go 25 miles, you'd understand. At least Nyc, you know you're hitting traffic, everyone else expects it and plans around it. Baltimore and DC folks don't plan ahead, which causes chaos..

I detest thieves, criminals, con men, ###### and general scumballs. Since Congress is in DC, I prefer NYC.

Let me get this straight. You are complaining and saying it can get backed up in Baltimore and DC and take several hours to get somewhere which is not always the case but is the case in NYC so that is why you think Baltimore and DC are worse? :biggrin_2556:

The side streets are a pain. There will be vans and trucks just stopping in the lane so they can make a delivery or a service truck just stopped in the lane to work on a vehicle parked on the side. you just have to go into the opposing lane to go around them and the streets are packed with traffic. When your backing in off the street your 4-ways are meaningless they will drive right up to your bumper while you are backing up and then honk at you to move. Just be patient and always be aware of whats around you and be patient some more, it's not so bad.. It's just a huge time sink messing around there.

The first time you are there and see all the bridges marked under 13'6" because of the ####### way NYC does things it will scare you.

If you deliver to NYC always call the customer and get directions, don't depend on your GPS to get you there,it'll be more stressed out then you are and give you very wrong directions. When you leave the customer get directions back to the interstate.

Atlanta, Chicago and Houston are easier to drive around then NYC do to being setup better, having less congestion, and there bridge height signs actually being correct and not using there own different system like NYC uses. I really can't for the life of me understand how those cities are worse to drive in then NYC.
