You would fit in well there. They expect you to be dressed properly, keep your truck clean inside and out. Make your bed in the morning. Shower and shave daily. And wake up at 6 am. Some guys can't handle that, so they make comments like 'it's like being in the Marines'. Funny thing is, those folks think that's an insult when i think it's something to be proud of.
For starter companies they, in my mind are very high on the list. Now I've never worked for them(or any other company for that matter, I've never been a company driver) so i can only form an opinion based on what i see and hear when i bump into their drivers. And from what my eyes see, their guys are a lot more professional than the typical truck driver.
How bad is TMC ?

Do you already have a CDL?
A&R Logistics gives 6 mos credit for military driving experience. -
I'm not sure how it works with that company. But I currently drive trucks in the Army .. With MOST companies I could do the skills waiver test and get hired on with the 5.5 years of experience have now. I'm sloted to attend the CDL school of GA this Tuesday

Plenty of good high paying jobs in Savannah with tanker companies. Trimac Transportation is real good and when you qualify for their Elite Fleet can make over $100K.
Here's some more tanker outfits that will hire you right out of school:
Superior Carriers
A&R Logistics - 6 mos. credit for military driving
Tidewater Transit
McKenzie Tank Lines
SVTN
CTL Transportation
Girton Propane Service
These companies will give you pre-hires just as TMC did.Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this. -
Thanks! I do appreciate it man! I going to do some homework on each one and see what I can come up with
Chinatown Thanks this. -

People hate TMC because we have high standards. If you show up looking dirty, or unkept, you will be told to correct it or go home. Are equipment is nice, you get home weekly, and if you want your hand held, go somewhere else. I love it when people who have never worked for us think they can call us names, because we get their loads because our guys are getting it done.
Crusader66 and Highway Sailor Thank this. -
Certain company cultures are not for everyone.
I could not work for a company that wishes to dictate how my bed is made, or which part of the lawn I walk on. -
Tmc is a good company. But they aren't the top.Highway Sailor and Gunner75 Thank this. -
