Are you referring to the radios internal swr meter or an external swr meter? The internal meter isn't very accurate. It's possible something has changed in your antenna system. You may need to start with checking the coax connectors, then your antenna and mount. Not sure what you mean by your radio puts out the blue.

Ment to say outa the blue it started doing that. I will check everything when I get chance hopefully just the mount is loose or something simple but it’s also the stock meter on the radio as well meen I can hear everyone when they talk and havnt had a complaint just something that’s been bugging me.

Ah okay. The internal swr meter is a nice feature, but they aren't very accurate in the cobra 29's. I always recommend using a decent external swr meter to check the antenna system. It will at least give you an idea if the antenna may have a problem or not. A cheap ohm meter can at least help check for open or shorts in the coax, antenna and mount.

Very good, I didn't think about the meter possibly sticking. Thanks for the update.

Instead of spending $$$$$ on a good external meter, I let the professional antenna expert set it up, $20 and I’m done. Just my .02.

That's fine too. Not all drivers can get to a professional cb shop. That's why I recommend a good external SWR meter. It at least takes a little bit of the guess work out of trouble shooting.

I hear you. I was looking for one but through my trucking life(44 years) I’ve probably used a handful of techs to calibrate/match my antenna.

In Missouri think there’s only really one cb shop close to me that’s there at hoods I’m down south of I44 off 63 but I’ve always adjusted my own antenna and get it with .5:1.5 but maybe I should possibly invest in a external swr meter just to b safe
