You have one license, so anything done driving affects that single license you hold. If you got a ticket riding a motorcycle, would you not expect it to affect your car portion too? This is the same thing. CMV is simply an addition to your licenses, not a new license.
One driver on this forum had 9 fender benders as a NYC cabbie. Got the CDL-A and couldn't find a job. We told him to go on Craigslist and start applying. He submitted dozens of applications and left dozens of phone call messages. Within a week he had a great job hauling produce out of California and back to the East Coast. He applied to companies even though he didn't qualify by what was on Craigslist and it paid off.
Don’t matter what you think, most companies would hire you despite the accident, but it isn’t their call. It is the insurance company that dictates who gets hired and who doesn’t. your ticket still shows up as a dismissal. so how did you get the ticket if she hit you?
Sounds like maybe an "Improper Lane Change" scenario to me, maybe ticket thown out because issuing office didnt show up to court, or couldnt identify the OP... But I'm only guessing.
You think thats retarded... If a truck is stopped in a traffic backup, doing absolutely nothing wrong... And Joe Blow, playing on his phone, slams into the back of the truck at 80 mph and kills himself... That wreck then shows on the trucking companies CSA Safety score as a "Fatality Accident"... Even though the truck driver was doing nothing wrong. So given what I've just explained, think about why a company could be hesitant to hire a driver with a accident on thier record... Dismissed or otherwise.
I'm going to agree with you on this, but with a general comment. While it is true in almost every fatality situation involving a CMV it's in the carrier CSA info. It is important to remember this is not universal. The reason this happens goes back to databases. CSA data in almost every situation comes from DOT officers turning in inspection reports. I know of two such fatality accidents involving CMVs that to the best of my knowledge never hit CSA because they were investigated by county cops that were not DOT officers and no inspection reports were issued. Because it is a fatality-involved accident the carrier REGARDLESS of fault MUST add this information to their FMCSA MANDATED accident register. If a carrier is careless and allows unsafe drivers/vehicles on the road and they have a lot of accidents these registers along with the state records of the accidents and other general police reports can be used later by the state and then added to CSA by other means. Then ALL this data is also available to Attorneys through discovery after lawsuits are filed. These databases are what is confusing the OP. I am of the same mindset @ZVar is in regard to the OP on this.
Well, by gosh, big enough to take care this, I garAWNtee you that! It ain’t nothing for me to whoop a man’s arse. lol
