Problem is you also post way to much info about things you don't have knowledge of. It hurts your credibility.

I don't post if i don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe you think I don't since you don't know what your talking about and you think you know more then you do. The few times i have given opinion on something I'm not well educated on, I always say that so the OP knows. A few times I have posted replys to users with engine troubles. I'll post based on my experience and troubles I have had, but I always preface it saying im not an expert on the topic. If I dont preface it, I probaly know more about it then you think I do, or just have a different opinion then you. Difference in opinion doesn't make me wrong. People can disagree without you calling me out saying I post on things i know nothing about. I try to help people on this forum, and If I know something I will add my .02. If i don't, I will read it so maybe I can learn something.

You calling me out and directing attention to other post when I was asking questions is just stupid. this forum is to help us all learn and share our knowledge. I never claimed to be an engine expert, so asking a question about "the oily hose" doesn't mean anything. People like you discourage people like me from asking questions and learning more.

Uh once again your info is incorrect. I never said a word about "the oily hose".

Your proving my point without me even trying. I won't comment anymore about this I was just trying to help you out.

Yea it sucks when companies wont maintain their equipment. In your case I might idle more, especialy since the compnay pays for fuel. They could save fuel if their drivers (you) trusted the batts and they maintained them. Replacing your bad batts would prob pay for itself pretty quick. At TMC i had 2 bad batts and they wouldn't replace um. Im assuming your wabasco is hard wired in and not easy to modify, but I know a guy who uses one in a boat and runs it off one of those boster packs. (seperate from main batt) You could buy a replacement wireing harness from wabasco and plugg it into your own booser pack battery. Just unplugg the company harness. You could just snake the controll out under the bunk. (you would need the thermostat nob as well) This way you could use your own batt without uninstalling anything company. When you go to the company shop just plug there harness back in.

I might have enough power to do both, but if i crank my motor with the webasto on, the fan slows for a sec, but it doesn't lose flame or go out. So if my motor doesnt start the wabasco never turned off. They should have an overide on the wabasco for emergencies though. If your motor wont start, who cares if you kill your batts running it. Im guessing if batts arnt peak, the starter will kill voltage to the wabasco fan and fuel pump.

My comment was in response to "truck on". Sorry I didn't look at the name and thought you were the same poster. He mentioned my question about the oily hose.

Same here, -13F/-25C in Chicago, cummins wont start. Swap new batteries, no luck. Charged batteries all night long from running reefer, 10sec crank, very rough first 2 min, misfire, then finally normal idle.

No problem for my ISX this week. Started at 2, -2, and -7 first crank. Idled up smooth and easy same as she always does. Gotta love synthetic oil and Howes. :)

Howes has nothing to do with cold start. 7 months old battery wont crank engine stayed for 4 days. Sure there was 15w-40, but non the less...

Really... Well then I suggest you fuel up down south and then park in below zero weather without treating your fuel and see if YOUR truck starts easy and idles smooth on thick diesel. Translated: Howes ###### sure does have something to do with cold start.
