Are you seriously trying to say that a legal immigrant is not allowed to go back to their country of origin for a visit? dude, half the population of south west Florida are western Europeans who winter here, then return home come spring. It's called dual citizenship. If the brits and french can do it here why do you think the eastern euro's can't do it in Chicagoland?

This is purely opinionated so if you disagree that's fine.
So first off - Screw all you guys bickering about foreigners I'm 3/4 native pretty much everyone I meet is an immigrant to me lol

You can all go learn to deal with immigration or live in a box and hide from the world. We are all God's children, doesn't matter where you are or where you came from.
There is money to be made here for anyone who can read and speak English, that's just the truth. Thinking opportunities are only for the people who were born here is selfish not to mention taking control of land and "free market economics" without cause other than feeling entitled.

If you're threatened by immigration, you're truly threatened by nothing but a better work ethic than yours, because without many peoples pride and conceitedness there would be nothing but level playing fields. Work for what you want, no one is entitled to anything. Whether a citizen or not.

Most people in this industry, OO or otherwise, won't make enough money for the IRS or state to look twice; as long as they aren't circling suspicious lines in their returns with a big yellow BIC hiliter. And yes, it can be perfectly legal to drive equipment with someone else's name on the title as a 1099, provided that adequate/reasonable compensation is provided for the use of said equipment.

Spyder, I know that. In fact, I think that's part of my point. It just bugs when people profile all of a group in one crappy lump. Sure there's some bad apples, in any group. Doesn't mean that it makes sense to diss them all, suspect them all. Let's be honest, lots of the litter, human excretions, and bad driving are not from immigrant peoples. Our own American citizen drivers have not managed to create a fun, healthy, and cooperative picture of themselves. What changed? I think anyone could answer that if they were a truth speaker.

When I was young, in the Eisenhower time, truck drivers were "the gentlemen of the highway," The Knights of the Road," people respected and supported drivers, for the most part. What changed that, asking again? I think it's an important question, because change can happen if people of good will make an effort. There's a post in here, "a little fun," I think, where a driver knocked on a semi door, then put back the trash that was dumped out earlier. Sweet!

Rollin, if I single you out, it's because your posts are useful even if I don't agree with every word you stroke. And, I even spoke with you once, you referred me to a recruiter. If I'd wanted to run mostly mid-West lanes, I'd be a F2F driver right now. I apologize if you're thinking I'm hating on you. I certainly didn't mean to create that impression. I'll be nicer from now on. Maybe I'll send you a dozen roses!

OK. Some people take advantage. Some people are a real pain. Some people just don't give a rats behind about anybody or anything else, these things are true. It doesn't mean all people do these things. I don't like profiling. Ever read the negative posts about young drivers? Muslim/Arab/Middle Eastern peoples? Eastern Europeans? Africans? South Am.ericans? The accusatory, negative posts are almost 100% of such material, yet the number of hosers isn't nearly that high. That's all I'm trying to say, y'all.

SO how do you explain all the stories in the news about the people selling CDL's in chicago and other immigrant heavy cities? You mention the only LEGAL way to get a CDL. But many of these drivers don't do it legally.

You're an immigrant too. Your people moved here from other continents as well. They just did it earlier than the rest of us. We had farther to go to get here.

Your "native" ancestors didn't just appear here. Native means born in a certain place\country. Any American born here is a native.

What a lot of people don't realize, is that all the American born dummy Mega lease operators who run $1 per mile freight and drivers who work for 30 cpm, are worse than any 1099 outfit

I disagree. They lp guy is getting screwed, but the mega he runs for is charging the customer as much as the market will bear. All of the publicly traded companies must list their revenue and profit numbers. Compare those to their listed registered miles and do the math. It isn't swift and werner that's running a bunch of buck a mile freight pushing the markets down.

And consider the megas cycle their equipment after just a few years. And their in house maintenance program priorities anything that can result in a dot violation(csa scores are a big deal). Their trucks are in pretty good shape over all. Probably not as well maintained as a one truck operator can be. But you won't see to many swift trucks with worn brake shoes and bald tires.

Just trying to poke some fun here,.. no insult meant. You know I have a lot of respect for you.

But my carrier owner goes back to Lithuania twice as year. He still has family there. I cant say for a fact,.. but pretty sure it would be safe to assume he sends money back to his family there.

This is what immigrants do,.. I doubt it was any different 100 yrs ago. Just saying,.. :)
