I thought I was the only one hard on this guy.
    You got me beat.
Couldn't agree more with every word you said.
This guy is one of a kind.
I believe he keeps talking himself out of every job
    He gets.
3 months from now he'll be someplace else
Demanding UPS pay for driving a cement truck
    Part time during the summer.
    It never ends. Lol.

It's asinine. How can someone work the receiving end of milk, deal with the regular drivers, then go do the job and ##### about EVERYTHING. I originally thought way back when he got the job. I offered my knowledge and I felt like I was talking to a know it all then. Like back a couple posts when @Thull said he was newly engaged, OP just has to say "Newly engaged huh. Been married 14 years lol."

Like he is a better person because he's married 14 years.
Or a better driver than Schneider.
Or gets paid more to haul milk than a 1st year fuel hauler.
    The list goes on....

I'm not sure what he's trying to prove to the world or us, in my opinion though, it's not going to be something spectacular.

On the other hand, if they would sit down and listen with their ears and not their mouth.... Don't try to make yourself better than anyone else because so far, your not.

I wish the op the best of luck, he's going to need it to make it in this industry.

I agree. He doesn't know enough to know what he doesn't know...if that makes sense.
He's had a lot of people offer him excellent advice but he keeps preaching to the choir about how much he already knows.
I'd like to see him work with some of our guys. It would be like feeding him to the lions. They'll put up with a greenhorn if he's willing to learn but they won't tolerate a mouthy know-it-all for a minute.
He needs to type less and listen more.

Ruthless, Blackshack46 and ChaoSS Thank this.

I just said that farm has been getting better, I said something positive. I also don't complain at work. I have a good reputation at work and only vented on this forum. Most of it is just that venting. As far as a mega carrier driver, I know first hand how bad the training is. I learned more from my current boss in 3 weeks of training then I did from that Werner trainer that had no more experience then I do right now. He sucked, although I'm sure they have some that are actually good, I got the pick of the litter. My current boss actually has ALLOT of seat time, decades

i have had very experienced drivers in the truck with me so i could train them on loading milk and my route, they said i am a very good driver and hold my own just fine for a 16 month guy. i never claimed to know everything. my boss said i do an excellent job. i have received nothing but praise.

the last OTR guy my boss hired was a guy who wanted to come off the OTR lifestyle and took a local job. he blew through a stop sign at the bottom of the hill and put a 100K lb fully loaded milk truck into the trees. completely trashed 200K worth of equipment, newer truck and trailer destroyed. he was caught on the drive cam lighting a cigarette and looking out the windows "rubber necking" even though he had already driven the route on a regular basis. the notion that an OTR driver is a better driver simply because they drive OTR is flawed. either you can drive or you cant. the difference lies in the fact that i have an assigned route and know where i am going, where an OTR driver never goes to the same place twice. either you can drive or you cant when it comes to the physics of driving, shifting, energy management, safe following distance, and situational awareness are all the same.

in the end hopefully we ALL have the necessary skills to safely do our jobs within this industry doing our jobs, whatever that particular job might be. ALL CDL holders who are actively driving are making an important contribution to society. dry freight, flatbed, milk truck, dump truck or dump trailer, ect ect. we all achieve something important and to be proud of.

well you have to admit at least im learning to take the good with the bad and stay somewhere for a while. trucking is trucking, jobs in this industry have their ups and downs, the good and the quirks.
