the old days of truck drivers has long ago passed.

    mostly steering wheel holders nowadays.

the remaining real truck drivers, are like the WWII vets.......dying off.

and there will never be anymore professionalism of the industry again.

i hope that so many more laws, and rules are set into place, that all the idiotic steering wheel holders shrivel up and die, and get replaced by autonomous trucks.

If every Super Trucker where to teach their boys how to be proper Truck drivers. We wouldn't be having issues.
Our kids don't want to drive. So they bring over people willing to do the jobs to get products moving.

There are three kinds of drivers:

    Professional: Everyone here on TR
Steering wheel holders: We know them
Spacers: The ones who fill the space between the steering wheel and seat back :(

It hasn't been as bad for me lately.

But two days ago I got jammed up bad. It was at a Loves and all pumps except 2 were broken.

You'd think that all those vans would make an exception and be courteous. But you would think wrong.

I had to back up so the guy fueling can leave because he was going ballistic. The truck at the ready line was missing its driver.

So I pulled up and fueled. Then I waited and waited and waited. Still no driver. Had the diesel clerk page twice.

Line behind me going back a full row of trucks and then around the corner.

    Waited some more.

Finally the kid comes out. In his 20s, healthy. Bags of stuff, fast food, talking on his phone, pink hat, bla bla... you know the crowd.

There were open parking spots everywhere, of course.

But lately over all I've been lucky.

I'm a pretty reserved, calm type in general. But honestly that kid would have benefitted from a few smacks of a tire thumper. It would have done him some good.

Call it like a public service.

The racing through parking lot is ignorant. 9 times out of 10, they can’t back up yet. The two seem to go together. Exactly why I stay away from other Trucks as much as possible. Good chance the Drivers inexperienced and just an accident looking for a place to happen.

Loves is by far the worst. The ‘freebies’ draw in every idiot like flys to ####.

I was at another Loves near Atlanta a little while ago. It was a small one. You enter near the back, fuel facing the building, then you leave out to the right. There's barely room to leave as it is. It's close to how that Loves is in Dallas off I20, if you have ever been to that one.

Well, you can't access the parking lot if you enter in front of the fuel island. It's just an exit.

This clown pulls in and parallel parks right in front of the building, blocking trucks from turning and leaving.

He pulls his brakes and goes into his sleeper.

People on the CB freaking out. People knocking on his door, hollering at him, arms flailing. They leave back to their trucks. the driver rolls his window back up and goes back into his sleeper.
