You missed the point due to not reading what was wrote. I was parked in the middle of a row at the Flying J and several drivers attempted to back into the spot to the right of me but was unsuccessful and gave up. But, an over confident wannabe came along and decided he was going to get into the spot no matter what. After getting out of my truck several times to stop him from backing into me I finally dropped my trailer and parked bobtail in the spot to put and end to it. Not only did I prevent my truck from getting damaged but I also prevented a fool from getting an accident on his record. I think we all know how tight the FJ's are and I shouldnt need to explain my reasons for taking up two spaces. It's not like I was the first to do this and Im sure I wont be the last. BTW, this was the Texarkana FJ. Do I need to say more?

DGstrong i can understand how you feel about some one smacking into your truck and the FJ at texarkana is a small tight parking TS i have had some one smack the front of my rig at one time but was a soft tap so no damage.
but was it really the other drivers who couldnt park right ? or was it because when you originally parked you took up to much space ? which was why the other truckers couldnt fit in. or someone else on that same line that parked just a bit to far to one side which caused the issue
i have seen that happen before in that same TS and saw other people like you that took up 2 spots and refused to answer the door to move there truck as i needed a place to park but it was mainly due to the other jackoff in the row that didnt park right. so i was forced to find a spot at another spot and was freaking dead tired and close to running over HOS...but good thing about that lil exp i made sure i never put that TS on my route for a stop/sleep -
This happened to me just two weeks ago at that exact same Flying J. Ended up having to switch trucks because of it. So I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt about taking up two spots on this exact night at this exact location. But I really hope you don't make a habit of this in normal truck stops where accidents aren't happening on a nightly basis. I take personal offense to those who do this on purpose, and I WILL stay up late and randomly knock on guys doors who do this kind of thing.
And definitely stay out of that FJ, I'll never go in there again, it's a #### nightmare.Attached Files:

It's all about situational awareness. I'm a former Marine, have been to a bunch of third world crap hole countries and being aware of my surroundings was a bigger asset to me than my weapon.
9.9 times out of 10 times guys who talk smack will not have the balls to fight you. Most normal people will not fight you. It's going to be a druggie, a mentally unstable person or a group of thugs trying to rip you off that will physically attack you.
You can avoid all these by not being the prey. Use common sense, don't walk with your head down texting. Always get an escape route to run away. You can call me names I don't care but I will runaway any chance I get. I have nothing to prove to anyone. I'm fortunate and blessed where my company compensates me very generously and I am not going to risk that.
Now in the rare event you are attacked or forced to defend yourself, keep in mind 99percent of the fights will end up on the ground unless a prized boxer wants to fight you (in that case you're sol). So I suggest you learn wrestling, muy thai, jijitsu and other forms of mma (mixed martial arts). Also if you are in that situation remember and I mean this literally you will have to think that if you're not fighting to kill that other person, he is fighting to end your life.
Unless you are physically attacked and have to defend your life, there is absolutely no reason to get in a fight. I don't have a cb (not saying it's bad or good) I can give a rats ### what a truck driver thinks of me, I'm not here to make friends. Don't get me wrong if someone says Hello, I still have manners.Reroll, allniter, Troubador222 and 3 others Thank this. -
