I hear you loud and clear double dragon. All the outfits that came about to make sure drivers got a fair shake have been taken over by the companies. just goes to prove that absolute power corrupts absolutely

The company i work for is Covenant.....but this is industry wide. They pay 8 hrs Idle Aire, if you are near one,and only upto 40 hrs per week. The law states that you are to log 10 hrs in the sleeper/off duty...still the lack of warmth and or Ac is too much.
I have seen drivers sleeping in the tv rooms at some truck stops....you tell me if they
are getting rested crumpled up in that seat? and with all that noise on??
I understand the owner ops views, but not all of us can become one and as we work as company drivers we need to demand our rights and fair treatment.
When push comes to shove, we the drivers must come together to address this issue.

But (no offense) if we only talk about it and don't take action, then nothing will ever change.. Some one needs to get the ball rolling, and I say those who are most affective, by this should be the ones who do it..

    MCR6468 Thanks this.

You'll see several like his. If you bounce along the Covenant threads.

Please pay close attention to comments made by current and previous employees of a company. As many current employees can be fired/terminated for posting a negative within an online forum.

Whether it be truthful, or not.

I am an o/o and I think it sucks the way these companies treat you guys. There is no way I am going to shut off my truck if it is too cold or too hot, but I know, I have that choice. That's why I don't run in states with idle restrictions. Until the government gives me the money for an APU, I'm not spending $10,000 of my money on one. I had a guy at a Wal-Mart DC come up and tell me to shut off my truck, that they didn't allow idling. I told him to show me in black and white the law that said I had to do this. He turned around and walked away, end of discusion.

If the EPA wants cleaner air, they need to included everything that pollutes, not dramatic changes to one industry. it all boils down to money anyway.

Bring it to their attention that "how would they would feel if they were told that they could not run their Air Conditioning or Furnace.
That truck is My house! I want it to be as comfortable as I can make it.
