And if you MUST park in a truck spot, please don't back all the way in..... I hate starting to get set up to back in, and see that its occupied.
How difficult is it to find parking?

Yes! That usually ####s up your chances of getting a spot close to that one. I had to blindside into a spot, and I got it set up perfectly, so beautifully I should've taken a picture. It should be written in history, then I get out to take a peek, and who do I see, a CRE truck tucked far in there with his lights off.

But I can't park my bobtail along the curb as it's full of big hoods that can't back up, so I go over with the slopes and back in a full length spot...
And most the car parking lots are off limits to trucks,
But you could always pretend I have a trailerJohn Dewart Thanks this. -

It's my understanding that most Walmarts welcome trucks, if they have a big parking lot (most do) and it's just overnight. I know our local Walmart parking lot will be full of trucks off to the side late at night.
I think they welcome trucks because they think they will go in and buy something while they are there. Think about it, besides showers and fuel, Walmart has just about everything a truck stop has, at much better prices. -
A lot of the Walmarts in the rural areas allow it but in the big cities, good luck not getting a knock at 3amJohn Dewart Thanks this.

Okay, that ranks right up there with shutting down in a fuel lane as far as my pet peeves go. RV's parked in a truck space make veins pop out on my forehead. These muppets are on vacation and can park anyplace; Wal-Mart isn't going to chase them off the lot, and why couldn't they have found a KOA in the first place? It never seems to occur to them that all those rigs around them aren't joyriding across the USA, they are at work. WE have only a certain number of hours we can move that rig before we are federally mandated to set the brakes for the night, and that RV may be in the only other parking slot which is/was available for that truck.
I guess that's why I hate that truck stops have turned into "Travel Plazas"; the "civilians" in the RV's, 4-wheelers and buses kind of invade the place and tend to get in the way at times. I know that might sound selfish to some, but I AM being selfish. After all, it's not as if we have tons of options when it's time to park.TequilaSunrise, Numb and Nitemare13 Thank this. -

Why would I pay for a KOA when I can just take your spot?

TequilaSunrise Thanks this. -
I'm right there with ya. When you need a spot, and some moron in his RV takes up the last spot... I usually just stare at them and shake my head. Or sit there until they move, which works occasionally. I ran into a Lexus crossover SUV pulling that tiny Uhaul trailer at a rest area Ina. Truck stop. I pulled somewhat into the spot and lit him up with my high beams, and then began the game. He got out with the signature arms in the air gesture, and I said your not a truck, not even a little bit close to a truck get the #### out of here. And he moved to the car section. Like it was that big of a deal anyway. I've been parking in the car sections, since they think it's okay to park where we arefree spirited1 and tech10171968 Thank this.
