This is one of the reasons I reinstated my authority. These systems are miserable and I believe the only safety feature I need in my truck is me.

You can take it to the dealer and they can reprogram it easy peasy.
You have to sign a piece of paper acknowledging that it has been disabled.
If you fail to notify your insurance company it's disabled, you may find yourself not covered if something happens. -
to turn the system off you actually have to go behind the dash where your Bendix is located at. And that will take care of your problem. You cannot unplug The Radars it will default. I do a lot of Heavy Hauling

The price you pay will be high. -
Not only that think of the health risks. A radar that can reach out hundreds of feet reflecting radiation right to your gonads.. Remember the State Troopers that sued because running radar speed guns made them sick?KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I feel for you op! Selfishly glad I drive a hood. All that electronic stuff sounds like a mess. Good luck mate.

TBH, though it is a nuisance, one moment of being inattentive could be the moment that system prevents you from killing someone..KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I still don't get the liability aspect of it. Its not mandatory equipment and is an option so who cares if its removed or not?
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I have a step-mother-in-law that gets $600 a month from Coleman because she sued them and won. Why? she took a lit gas lantern (propane, kerosene, oil, I don't know what kind of fuel) into a closed tent and knocked it over causing the tent to burn down killing their less than year old baby, and her husband. While tragic, I fail to see how Coleman could be at fault. This was 40-50 years ago, so it's not like the American legal stupidity is new.... -
