As an add on, don't turn down anything unless you have to. Learn to do a timeline for getting from A to B with possible conditions (traffic, speed, construction, bodily functions, breaks, etc...). I tell new guys all the time that you get some Fleet Managers/dispatchers that want to test you for a few months to see what kind of person/driver you are and they run you that way. Some that want to turn down loads b/c they don't want to go there, go out of route excessive miles, dilly dally, etc won't expect to see high weekly miles. Office people will tell you that's not true but ask anyone that's been around awhile.

Not for nothing, but I'm inked up. I'm not a freak. I know a lot of very, very successful business ppl who are inked up and are making 6 figure++ salaries. Now the piercings, that's a different story. But to each his own.

Forget all this crap. Be yourself, just be a polite version of yourself. Do your ob on time, do what your told if its legal. stay legal no matter what driver are now liable personally. if your over hours and have an accident they can hold you liable even if its not your fault. Out of Hours the truck stops. Anyone who expects you to run any other way is not worth impressing.

This does not mean sit waiting for the clock to run out, do everything in your power to go as far as you can then its just too bad, companys can repower if need.

Forget all this crap. Old school is the only way to go...... If you are like this guy i would never hire you. Take a nap and get it there safely. Running legal you cant take a nap, or you risk a "service failure" and you job. How safe is it really to let a computer or chip up your butt tell you when to sleep and when to work. Always look legal and cover your behind.

20 years a go I think this might have been more relevant, but now a days tattoos and piercings are much more socially acceptable, I have tattoos and it has never been an issue.

Now if you have profaine tattoos on your arms or your nose/lips are full of holes maybe, but barring that its usually not much of a deal, even if you are driving for a company where you interact with customers.
