Or, in place of the "canned air", simply buy the attachment air hose for inside the truck?

I'd just have it professionally steam cleaned by someone even if the company didn't pay for it. Chemicals are chemicals and the residual stuff is just as bad for you. As far as smell goes, spreading some baking soda around lightly and leaving the box open in the cab should help *it's the same technique commonly use to absorb odors from a smelly fridge*

Therre is a machine called "iniser" or something. Uses elecrticity to clean all the air that goes through it. My parents have one and I've used it for getting rid of smells in one car. I had it on for a night and the car didin't smell bad at all. There should be those available in companies that rent machinery.

For A7C there is a large variety of chemicals to use.

Use a wash mit that is soapy not wet and wash the headlines(not wet) wipe it back and forth then slowly light pressure rub a clean white towel, I do not know about trucks but this is what we do in cars.

There is a product called OdorXit. It's one of the rare products that actually work. Go to their website, they have a few different products that you could use. They explain how it works, as well as how to use it. I've used it to kill off cat scent/cat pee, in my house. If you can get that out, it'll certainly take out cigarette smell.
It may be a bit on the pricey side, but it's worth it.:biggrin_25525:

vinegar..your truck will smell like a salad when your using it to clean but it will eliminate the odor..wipe it down with vinegar and try just leaving it in an open container when you park your truck for a weekend. The vinegar smell goes away fast and it should take the odor with it.

One area that tend to hold the smell is the AC unit. The only problem is when it is a company truck and you can't open it up and acid out the coils and inside cover. Mattresses are another problem and again a company truck is going to be a problem.

Trying to cover it up is going to be about all you can do.

I got a truck once that had been used by a smoking team.

I wiped down all the hard surfaces with Simple Green (diluted). This included the curtains in front and the sleeper curtains.
Vacuumed the upholstery several times, then added Febreeze (don't go crazy with it).

Then, I aired it out at every opportunity I could, especially going down the road. And as far as the A/C, you can also use Lysol in the intake for the system (at least you can on cars).

As I recall, it took about three or four weeks before everything was reasonably odor-free, but I didn't get as aggressive with the cleaning as I could have. Growing up in bowling alleys probably muted my reactions.
