    Get a can of Bear Spray and a good vinyl tire thumper filled with lead. (yeah they are legal as long as you have a CDL)

    Given that choice, I think I'd have to go with the lighter and more concealable cheater bar. LOL

    An added note to the OP: If I need to go in to the truckstop at night and I don't score a princess parking spot, I remove my wallet from my purse and tuck it down the back of my pants, shirt over it. Hands free and nothing to snatch. Of course if held up at gunpoint it's handy enough to hand over.

    I drove cab in Los Angels off and on for over 20 years ... at night. Best advice? (Parroting other drivers) if you're scared don't get out. There are "comfort options" discussed at great depth in other threads.
