This bring up a question I have been on the look-out for the answer too around here. I see lots of talk about $$s per mile , but it seems $$ per Lb/mile would be better.
Im a pre-school-student of truck driving and think that knowing the Pound, elevation change, and travel/transfer conditions of every load would be as important as the next load location. Hauling max loads up hills that you have to finger-print must keep operating costs at max $s per mile.
Also how do O/O see labor pay? Is it after all costs its whats left over seen as the pay rate? OR is X amount of labor figured into each mile and any left over money seen as profit/bonus money?
Like I said Im here doing research for Pre-schoolers-school. J If I sound like an outsider, its because I am. I have done searches here for these question, but have found nothing, maybe Im using the wrong key-words. If you know a thread here, please point me in that direction. THANKS for reading this.
