Sni's bean counters made me run down to less than 1/8th of a tank... 200g. (No peelots in the area I was in, 200 mile trek to the nearest one they liked.)

Your calculations sound about like what I'd do if I were an o/o.

Im a company driver. I fill the tanks all the way to the top if I can. We drive to some remote areas and I want as much as possible. Sometimes the weight of the load dictates how much I can put in. But I'll slide my tandems if I can to make room for full tank.
Had a load a few weeks ago that I couldnt fill more than half tanks. So I just dealt with it...and fueled in strategic locations... like right after a scale house, knowing I had burn off time before the next one....

I stop on even gallons. Easier to calculate my points in my head.

Depends on when I fuel and whether I am loaded or empty. I try to fuel up at the beginning of my day. If there wasn't a fuel stop nearby and I have to fuel up during my drive time, it's find a safe spot to drop the trailer, bobtail to the pumps, fill up, go back and hook up to the trailer. But that wastes an hour in the middle of your driving day, and my time is crucial.

Usually, it's get up while it's still dark, drop the trailer, fuel up, get something to snack on and a liter of water and drive all day nonstop. If I am going into an area that doesn't have a lot of fuel stops, or a mine, or a wind farm, I will top the tanks off before I jump on the goat path too. You never know how long you may have to sit in a dead zone.

I will fill it up unless I am told to put in a certain number of gallons (which happens from time to time). I top off the tanks. When I am at a Pilot/Flying J I will try to make sure that I have at least half a gallon so I get an extra point.

I let at least a gallon spill out just to make sure it's full and then clean up the side of the truck with the window washer.

I would just top it off.Sometimes I would round it off to the nearest dollar amount.
