Since I use my debit card for all my fuel purchases, I've been doing this for years. I also do this for gas for the personal vehicles too.

    Vilhiem Thanks this.

My grandfather used to work in the anti-fraud unit of one of the world's biggest credit unions. I got lots of tips like that.

Fuel is the most common first purchase on a stolen card. The second? Pizza.

I usually fuel in a long line of trucks that appear to be taking their 30 min. break. When I get to the fuel island I stop the pump at an even gallon figure. Then I wait for the driver of the truck ahead of me to get out of the shower. I hate to stop for fuel!

I click the lever until both the gallon and price counter end in even numbers because odd numbers are bad luck. The very right thousandths number, so it can take a few clicks sometimes. Worth it though. Odd numbers kill my zen.

if you fuel at a pump that has a lever I always stop where I want, shut the lever off, then squeeze the handle again. sometimes you can get another couple cents worth of fuel from the residual pressure in the line. may not sound like much but itll count up after a while I suppose. not all of em do that tho some trip the handle as soon as you flip the lever. as expensive as fuel is I don't mind getting my few extra cents worth...

I'm sure the guy behind you who watches his pump show the few cents it takes to fill the hose doesn't mind a bit. :biggrin_25511::biggrin_25511:
