It will be most interesting to discover where in wyoming you will find enough business to fill a truck or many trucks. The wyoming I know is all wind and snow. And a lot of it.
How do you keep going on?

One of the companies we sell to has a terminal there. Yeah, it can be pretty hellacious but no worse than the dakotas, I wouldn’t be all the way into the Rockies.

I still will not go to California. California is great for jacka$$es like you. Northeastern California from Orland and above I don’t mind going into. The rest of California I would not bother with unless I get paid 5x as much to go there for the amount of headaches and bullsh1t and stupid laws I have to deal with.

What kind of crappy things? Lots of places are "better" with different kinds of crap to deal with. The crap is the same but spread out on the cracker a different way or flavor.

How about this...
You go into a shipper 60 mins early. The guard says your trailer is dirty and gives you a broom to sweep. You sweep the floor and the guard checks again. Guard complains that there are still little bits of wood chips so you resweep again. Guard comes in again with a disgusted look and hesitantly gives you the okay. This took like an hour of your time. You then back into a super-tight spot with super-truckers looking at you funny. You then walk into the office and office tells you appointment was supposed to be earlier and now is asking you to pay up the late fee. You call your dispatch and it takes time for all of them to sort it out but they still want you to pay them for their stupid pallets. So you pay them for their pallets and now have to wait 6 hours for them to load your truck. Now your 14 hours is almost done and all the truck stops are full and the shipper want sto kick you out because they don’t allow overnight stays even though you waited so long for them.
And the whole trip is only 500 miles and paid cents per mile on mega-trucking payscale. They then pay you by zip code to zip code instead of the actual miles driven so they cut out like 20% of what you actually drove.Last edited: May 25, 2018

Umm... was referring to what crappy things in general I have to deal with. Not referring specifically to California. But they can be crappy like that.Wargames Thanks this. -
When I pulled dry van I had my own push broom and dust pan. I could never imagine showing up without a spotless trailer. That's part of the job.MACK E-6 Thanks this.
