How do you know that the load you want to book is worth it or not?

Like any business, you would figure your cost ( all costs , time , etc) subtract that from what they are offering and that is what you will make. Is it worth it to you?

Oh, that's an easy one,,,experience, my friend. In this non-interaction society, I suppose there really is no way of knowing. Used to be, when people talked to each other, sitting at the truck stop lunch counter, you could ask any driver there, "ever hear of so and so"? We don't have that today, sadly, so I guess you are on your own.

You learn how to judge a load by first knowing what your costs are down to the penny; this includes everything.

Then you have to learn how to read a map because you need to figure out where you are going to land and how to get back to the better-paying loads, which means that you have to know where the lanes are and how to leverage the broker to maybe put together more than one load so you can daisy-chain your way back to a good lane, and so on.

Now the rest is complicated, and that is where experience comes into play.

Now my question is this: did you just go out and buy a truck, expecting to make the big bucks?
