Well, we know now. We also know there SHOULD be an exception that would allow us to move the truck to an actual safe location and get it parked, without dinging us.

Let's say you make it to a truck stop and check in the shop. Are you going to log the time waiting for your turn? I'm going to be sleeping, eating or doing laundry taking advantage of that time. I guess one has to use common sense if they have any. I'm not wasting any minutes waiting unless there is no way around it. If I'm able to sleep or get something to eat then I consider myself free to do what I want which equals off duty.ShopTalk Thanks this. -
I always logged it line 4. If the load was late for that reason then so be it.

I've also been told the only time you log off duty is when your home. Or parked for a 34 at a truck stop or something. If your in the truck during normal working hours then it's sleeper berth.

Like let's say you normally go home on weekends. If it's during the week (away from home) then it's considered sleeper berth because normally your not gonna ever be released completely from the truck and all duties during that time.
