Well, we know now. We also know there SHOULD be an exception that would allow us to move the truck to an actual safe location and get it parked, without dinging us.

Sorry I didn't read the whole deal. Each situation is different. If you are on the side of the road then you are in a dangerous situation. Anything can happen including a leo pulling up behind you. You are waiting for a tow or repair truck and you can't just leave the truck there. In that situation I would remain on duty not driving. But if you are in a safe haven who's to say different? I was in the sleeper, the truck was idling and blah blah, boom! That case you can get away with SB.

Let's say you make it to a truck stop and check in the shop. Are you going to log the time waiting for your turn? I'm going to be sleeping, eating or doing laundry taking advantage of that time. I guess one has to use common sense if they have any. I'm not wasting any minutes waiting unless there is no way around it. If I'm able to sleep or get something to eat then I consider myself free to do what I want which equals off duty.

I always logged it line 4. If the load was late for that reason then so be it.

I've also been told the only time you log off duty is when your home. Or parked for a 34 at a truck stop or something. If your in the truck during normal working hours then it's sleeper berth.

Whoever told you that doesn't know what they're talking about. What are the "normal working hours"?

Like let's say you normally go home on weekends. If it's during the week (away from home) then it's considered sleeper berth because normally your not gonna ever be released completely from the truck and all duties during that time.
