Wow. Lots of varying responses!
Thanks guys!
Seems like with the ELogs you pretty much have to run when you have hours.
I personally don't mind driving either day or night in my personal vehicle. I've done both. I'm not a trucker yet, so I don't know if it would feel different or not. -
Driving professionally cannot be taken lightly (not that you are by the way). Once you go to school, that alone will open up your eyes to the awesome responsibilities that you will be facingVilhiem and texasbbqbest Thank this. -
Not a picky SOB. I just need my 60 hour restart each week. Less then that, very very very grumpy....texasbbqbest Thanks this. -

I prefer driving at night and as a company driver I stuck to that. Now days cant really with customers, brokers and drivers calling all the time.

I would think having to stop at truck stops would be a PITA. I always see those full when I go on road trips. Rest stops probably aren't much better either are they? -
I slept 1 time in a truck stop. Im more of a exit ramp rest area kinda guy. In the dump bussiness alota customers let me sleep there so. But i usually run early morning 3 am or so from central pa west. But i do alota night driving to.. I wont tell you the hours i run cuz we all know majority of us dumps dont run legal. So with that said its mostly driving days. And i usually leave sunday and sitting at my house friday by noon with 5 loads for the week n 2500 plus miles in. N reloaded for sunday thats how i run some say it aint ssafe but i can tell u my set schedule is alot safer then the guy who sleeps differents time etc i usually wake up n go bed same time all week. Untill e logs r mandated then ill b home every night driving a feed truck
texasbbqbest Thanks this. -
I used to like night driving but these days I drive only in the daytime from about 9am-8pm. The sunlight keeps me energized plus if I want to make pitstops at starbucks or some obscure restaurant along my route I know everything is open.
I also use my time while I am driving to keep up with my bills and keep everything back at home up and running. That business is all done on the phone and during the daytime hours I know anyone I may need to contact is available for me.texasbbqbest Thanks this.
