I'm not smart enough to screw with my logs. There, I admitted it!!

Isn't fudge and a log redundant?

Don't listen to these guys, some are true professionals that truly never rig the logs and others just don't want to say. I do all the time, as I find that running legal is not very profitable. My pops was a CRST lead driver for many years and he learned to keep two log books there. Of course he never needed to use them because he was lucky to get 1500 miles a week and its a team operation anyways so no need to cheat. The way that I do it, I use the loose leaf log book. I drive the whole day and when I'm legally supposed to stop, I'll re-draw another sheet for the day. If I just need a couple more hours then I'll write that I took off from my original destination two hours after I really did. It works out because you usually spend two hours in traffic or what not so you adjust the time very easy. Then I also add in there a two hour lunch that I didn't take and that gives me an extra 2 hours to drive if I stay within the 14 hour period. And if I'm really stretching for time, then after I'm done with my 11 hours of the day, I change the logs so that apparently I got there the previous day and I had just been sleeping for 15 hours. I use the same trick to get 34 hours off duty and thus a reset in the 70 hour work week. I've never been caught and DOT has checked my logs dozens of times. It's an acquired skill, but you'll get good with enough practice. I do get some angry comments from DOT from time to time because I have loose leaf logs. But it's not illegal so, not much they can argue.

Way to throw pops under the bus there Meathead. I hope noone from CRST finds out and they take their gold watch back. "Fudging the log" is not an aquired skill my friend. Making money while staying safe and legal is a skill. It's drivers like you that fall asleep at the wheel and kill yourself or someone else. You need to be careful driver.
