Some of you guys never get it and/or play naive. Yes, I am a new driver, if you consider 4-6 years a new driver. I'm assuming that most of you are 30+ years which is an amount that I cannot fathom at this stage of my life. Anyways, the truth of the matter is that you simply cannot be profitable when you run legal. Honestly, if I can't be at home fishing, reading and drinking beer then at least I'm gonna make some money. I'm in the produce and meat side. What does that mean? I'm getting un/loaded in 4+ hours. If I just spent 8 hours waiting for a load, you bet your butt I'm not gonna drive for 8 more hours and call it a day. I catch a lot of heat from you guys, but I'm just being realistic. This is not an isolated practice by a few rogue drivers, it's an epidemic, which tells you something about the current rules. To the driver that wished I got caught, too bad, I've never been caught because I'm quite good. And if I ever do get caught, I do t think I'll learn a life lesson and never do it again. My pops has been caught and he got "grounded" for 12 hours and scolded. Nice. And finally, Ronin, I don't run from my problems, I face them. I'm not a tough guy and I don't threaten people on the Internet, I believe only cowards do that. I spent 4 years with the 2/10th
marines, I hardly think I would run away from you. I'm usually on the I35 corridor and I10 headed west, just tell your wife not to drive around there, if youre that scared.

Just cause someone is running over on their hours doesn't mean they are unsafe or dangerous. It just means they chose to break a few rules. Now if they get busted, they are in trouble, thats just common sense. But in no was shape or form does is mean they are dangerous in any way.

But by your way of thinking that would mean that everyone with hours to run shouldn't be tired, unsafe, dangerous or careless. And that is farthest from reality.

Wow I really wish it was a perfect world that some of you seem to think we live in....lol

Yup, but some people think that if you don't follow all the rules or disagree with them, your driving around killing families, and kicking dogs..Seems to me they are the ones that are really burying their head in the sand...

I respect all of my brothers and sisters in uniform, serving now and veterans, but after serving with Marines, while I have even more respect for them than the other services, I realize they were forced to trade some brightness points for courage points in boot camp.

Class 84-3, USMC Scout/Sniper Course, Camp LeJuene, NC.. May 1984 - as a AIR FORCE guy - wasn't pleasant, trust me, but I still keep in touch with several of the guys I went through school with.

    With that said..

"I'm not a tough guy and I don't threaten people on the Internet, I believe only cowards do that."

I didn't threaten you or anyone - I simply stated that if you're running illegal like that and hurt my wife, there's nowhere you can hide. Wasn't directed at only you, but a blanket statement.

"I spent 4 years with the 2/10th marines, I hardly think I would run away from you."

I would hope you wouldn't, since even if a Marine makes a mistake, they'll stand up for it and take the consequences head on.

"I'm usually on the I35 corridor and I10 headed west, just tell your wife not to drive around there, if youre that scared."

I'm not scared of her driving anywhere, except when someone advertises, on a public forum, no less, that they regularly whip their logs to show breaks they didn't take so they can keep rolling. AND, we live 1/4 mile off I-35. Please do your drowsy driving in the wide open... like the middle of Arizona.

I wasn't going to address the Marine reference. But. Here I am.

I don't care what branch you served in, how long you were there or what dirt has been breathed into your lungs. You do not automatically get my respect simply because you served attached to X/XXX. For all I know or care, you specialized in peeling spuds and policing latrines. Any fool can make it through basic training, put on a funny looking suit and carry a gun. All you have to do to succeed in the military is put in your time and keep your mouth shut. Trying to garner respect from people based only on the fact of your service is a slap in the face to people like my grandfather...who served on active duty in the Army, in theater, on the line, during both WWI and WWII.

I served in the Navy. It does not mean I deserve any more consideration than anyone else. In fact, I am a little embarassed when people thank me for my service. I didn't really do anything except make sure the land end of our little bridge didn't get overrun by hostiles. And, lest you forget, the Marine Corp is a division of the Navy. Ooh-rah.

Some topics are best not discussed in public. And of all places to discuss something that should be kept to ourselves, you guys are dickin' this one out on the Questions From General Public forum. This discussion reminds me of guys asking on the radio for directions to get around the scales when they're almost to 'em.

Seriously...do what you gotta do, but everybody in the general public doesn't need to know about it. Trucker's image, remember?

I offer up respect first, until someone proves to me they don't deserve it.
