My friend, I totally disagree with you. The biggest thing in life, Is Choice. I choose to run by the book. If others, choose different, thats there business. I dont like this thread, because it endorses running illegal. My Choice, not too.

I don't think anyone here is endorsing it by any means. Its just reality that it happens.

Being safe and being compliant met not be mutually inclusive but they are not exclusive.

I don't ask for respect because I served and I certainly didn't this time. I made a general statement, with an extra example, to show that I make mistakes and I face the consequences when I do, I don't need to hide. I'm not here to discuss who served where and how as I don't speak about that unless in person because anyone can say whatever they feel like here. On the forums, every trucked is a medical doctor and/or attorney and everyone was a navy seal wounded 5x in combat. With that said, the marines are indeed a department of the navy. The mens department. (lol I know it's old and over used but I don't want to get into a di** measuring contest) Anyways, ronin, let me illustrate two examples.
    A) a couple of weeks ago, I was aski g a question on this forum about my AC because it wasn't working. I did not sleep that night but maybe 30 mins in Texas heat. I went for my pickup the next morning at 11 am, after a 16 hour break and I was exhausted. My log book cannot truly represent my state of awareness and ability to drive safely.
    B) a few months back, I drove about 45 minutes to pick up a chicken load from pilgrims in west Texas. I logged legal and arrived shortly after 9am. I did not get loaded until 8 pm and I slept the whole time. I only had 3 more hours in my 14 hour period but I just slept for 13 hours. Again, my log book cannot represent my physical state.
To be fair, most of the time the situations above are not the case and I just want to drive more to fit in that extra load at the end of the week. This is a public forum, meaning we can post as we please while respecting others. If you need to hide the truth, then we are lying to ourselves. I would venture to say that absolutely no trucker has been 100% honest when logging. Some do it inadvertently, other just to adjust a 15 minute overage which wouldn't hurt anyone and others, like myself, to make more money.

Simple issue, if your tired park it get some sleep even if its a 30 minute nap sometimes thats all it takes to get you back to alert.

As a Professional Driver I take pride in my driving safety record. Do Not Drive unless you are fit to do so, period ill-regardless of your log book status. I would rather be late than dead trying to be on time.

Every load I load is time sensitive, too bad if I get sleepy, I call dispatch and tell them add 30 to 60 minutes to the delivery.

I will not drive for a company that puts loads ahead of driver and public safety.

As far as logging I always make sure time stamps on any paperwork match my book.
