Yes different contracts. And with both contracts when you go top rate, it is the same top rate as everyone else. Not a two tier system as Bigdog is falsely claiming.

For the new contract, UPSF top rate has remained the same. Its $28.65.
However, parcels top rate WENT UP to $42 thereabouts.77fib77 Thanks this. -
Until I got that dock and talked to the guy. I thought they were the same. Big difference . I talked to team driver's make 105, to 110. Home two days a week for UPS. Medical and pension. I don't know of anything that could be better.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

This is for freight.
Say you have two FREIGHT drivers at the beginning of the new contract. One is already at top rate. The other is a BRAND NEW driver. By the end of the contract, the driver who was already at top rate will now be at $30.85, while that new driver will only be at $28.65. Then, when another new contract comes out, there is a chance that pay is frozen or changed, and you'll now have drivers at one top rate of $30.85 and others stuck at $28.65.
Not sure I can explain it any other way that would make it easier to understand. -
Their road guys make crazy money working 4 days a week. You'd never here me complaining about that.
I started this thread regarding freight. Those parcel guys got it made. The feeder drivers have a crappy work schedule, but making 42 an hour and not touching any freight makes up for it lol.77fib77 Thanks this. -
Parcels top rate is
You got it all wrong! $42 for parcel and $30+ an hour is not the new top rate. That is what the top rate will be at the last year of the contract.
There are raises every year. By the end of the contract and all the raises that's what the top rate will be, and expiration of the contract!SidewaysBentHalo and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
Around and around. Yes, top rate remained unchanged at $28.65. However the pay increases will allow the guys already at top rate to start locking into higher pay rates, while the brand new drivers starting out wont be able to catch up, since top rate remained unchanged at $28.65.

Lmao! Dude you're confused. If you went top rate you would get all those raises(cost of living adjustments)incorporated into your raise as well. Which will put you at the same rate.
When top rate goes up it does for EVERYONE.
If you still don't get it. I can't help ya man. Good luck! SmhSidewaysBentHalo and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -

Oh my God.
I can't believe this whole thread.
I have a migraine. I'm going to lie down.
But yes. You made the right move leaving. I'm glad you didn't get caught up in that two-tier system. Smart man.SidewaysBentHalo and De Trucker Thank this.
