Our company does't have opti idle but we have something like it the truck has an automatic shut down timer that comes on after the truck has not moved for 3 minutes, so when it gets to the last 90 seconds of the 3 min time the check engine light will start to flash and if you want to over ide it you have to press the break or the clutch.

It has a sensor on the outside of the truck that monitors the outside temp and if it is below 50 degrees or above 70 degrees and you over ride it the truck will keep running but if it is between those temps you will have to keep over riding the thing every 3 mins.

you have to pay attention for that light when your sitting in traffic or your truck will kill on you in the middle of the road.

It works fine, other than the fact that it burns up starters. Everyone I know who has had Opti-Idle has starter problems constantly. Then you're in for a treat. I woke up one time in Chicago in a 9 degree truck because my starter burned out and my truck wouldn't restart. Had to sit and wait for two hours for on-road. Talk about a treat!

I now have a brand new truck with a Wabasto heater -- WAY BETTER! :)
