I think the 15 liter is the ticket. I still say there's no replacement for displacement.

My Volvo had a D13, and the best it ever did was 6.5.

I just can’t believe the lack of control — but again, it was the first time. A couple of my old friends swear by them, but I am not seeing a second time. Both my pickups are manual.

I based my answer on Caspers abilities.
I thought for sure he crawled up the hills and "flew" down the other side to save fuel.

The one mixer I had was like the last of the manuals. 359 eight speed with 4 reverse, and 2 granny's.
It was a F beast. Never had to worry about anyone taking it unless it was a last resort.
Hold that F clutch in for HOURS lol. And I have a torn acl lol.

The other was a KW with an auto. It was much easier to drive, but a total pos. Had a cat motor that just SCREAMED, always had to wind it up. I'm being serious when I say it was the most giant pos ever. Got 3.8 mpg lol.

All I can say is I am jumping back in to this with both feet — and it’s not going to be in any sort of AT — to old and the learning curve is to steep.
