How fast is too fast?

These guys in Waldo are infamous. They harass anyone and it's all a revenue generator for the town and it's all well documented. Yea, he told me I was going too fast for conditions and the "condition" was it was dark and my vehicle was too heavy.

For the mostpart officers will let you get away with 5 miles over the posted speed limit except thru a construction zone and then you best be driving the speed limit.

 

Well.. I honestly drove 55.. but that was a thousand years ago.. and the nation was limited to 55.. and I was driving a big noticeable white and blue LPG truck and trailer... I just got used to it.. and of course I was paid by the hour! lol.. Never understood those dude who would drive faster to make less pay...

 

You must get passed by a lot of Schneider and U S Xpress trucks .

 

Indiana will stop you for 1 m.p.h. over in the no fly zone on I-65 just north of the KY line . They want an excuse to give you a level 1 inspection .

 

No one has mentioned the fact that the cops will let a dozen cars go by at 10mph over, but pull over a big truck doing 6mph over because he can write a 'bigger' ticket!!

It doesn't really seem to matter these days - just go slower than the truck that passed you, is what seems to be the norm.

My truck is governed at 65, and I'm happy with that, but in Arkansas people go 70-75 in big trucks and when they do that, I hope they all go into a ditch and lose an arm or something.

What pisses me off the most about trucks speeding is that when I, who am actually GOING the speed limit, need to pass someone going slower than the speed limit, I have to wait for all these #### speeding trucks to pass me first, who shouldn't be going any faster than me to begin with.

And yes, sometimes I will merge into the left lane to pass a slower vehicle and slow down the progress of a speeding truck, and not give a crap whether or not I'm holding him/her up. In fact, get too close to me and I WILL hit the brakes, and have been known to do just that. I don't have to accommodate anyone who is going too fast, that's not my problem. You want to speed, go ahead, but do so at MY convenience and anyone else who is obeying the law.

Now when a 4 wheeler needs to pass, I will convenience them, since most states I travel in, they can go faster than trucks, and I will actually wait for all 4 wheelers to pass in the left lane before I get out there to pass someone myself. I see a lot of trucks cutting off passenger vehicles just to get around someone. That is just rude.

In Texas, where it is 75 in a lot of places, I don't care too much because I am the slower vehicle, going only 65 in a 75, but there are a bunch of slow drivers in Texas, especially the closer to the border you get.

 

As far as I know, they don't need an excuse to pull you over. They can pull over a commercial vehicle for no reason at all.
