I didn't have much, if any, switching of schedules doing Dedicated OTR tanker. Much, much, much easier and more civilized than reefer.

Yes, but some tanker washouts make a crowded Pilot truck stop look like an emtpy Nebraska cornfield by comparison.

Plus parking a 48 ft tanker is easier than a 53 ft box. It's shorter, better visibility to the rear, no tailswing to speak of. Blind-side backing isn't uncommon.

The larger tank washes have showers and laundry facilities. There are even some with plush driver lounges. Think lazy Boy recliners, big screen cable TV, pool table, weights/gym machines and look more a sports bar than a driver lounge.

You would have to see them to believe it.

Of course there also are some that are so downright nasty, you wouldn't even want to get out of your cab.

That might be because there are just less tankers than other types of trailers?.

But, yes, most tank washes allow parking. Also, if you are familiar with the tank wash you also know quiet spots nearby where you can park.

Chemical or pnuematic is not bad, with powder not many tank washouts. pulled powder for 15 years or so wasn't bad. Seems loike lots of politics these days, I just dont have the patience for that stuff.

    your outside all day
    Racks suck
    Rates aren’t that good
    Busiest around all holidays
Days of throwing anything over are gone
Every station is now a 7-11 type place
and I hate chipping ice out of fills

Can't say I have those problems, for the most part.
Rates are fair, dispatch respects us and our time, most stations are decent (though we do have a couple that are "senior drivers only" or "night drop only") and I've only had caps freeze a couple times. Just diverted the load to a different site. Customer responsibility to keep drops open and available to deliver... It's in the contracts.
