No ice issues in South Florida, but the low pay reflects that I guess. Classifieds are permanently occupied by fuel haulers wanting drivers. I think that might be their advertised pay being $850-$1000 per week.
To deal with all the other stuff mentioned?. No thanks.
How hard is tanker ?

1500/wk is decent, many in my area are at 1800-2200/wk.
1k/wk is 14.28/hr...ain't no way I'd do it for that.Another Canadian driver, Deadwood, Truckingdaytrader and 1 other person Thank this. -
If I could get close to $1800 per week, I would seriously consider fuel hauling locally. That just ain't happening for any local job in my area.

I will be transitioning to something more local soon and have an eye on tanker because it looks like a good option for local. It's been suggested to have several years of experience for fuel (I only have one year of reefer) but glad I jumped through the extra hoops to get hazmat, TWIC etc...it could end up paying off in the long run.

Tanking can cover everything from wacky to sadistic.
Handing deicing fluid in the NE means sending loads to JFK, et all at rush hour in a snow storm knowing that the guy could end up spending hours pumping into 500 gal trucks out on the runway all night. was the worst trip I ever dispatched.
Wacky would take all dayAnother Canadian driver and Cat sdp Thank this. -
