Truckers that want to be home a lot should drive a day cab, the only reason I'm regional is to stay out of the northeast. i only go "home" once every few months.

If you have an opportunity on the table for LTL, and that type of work interests you, I'd suggest that you go with that.

Can't tell you much on regional...been with them OTR for 8 years.
Started in '07'- they trained me well and in 6 weeks I got a CDL, a brand new automatic truck(65mph) and 33 cents a mile to start. 90 days later - 36 cents per mile. 6 months after that - 38 cents a mile. At 1.5 year mark in yearly 2008 I was making 40cents per mile.
It was a good time-paper logs, 3000 + miles per week.
They even had a " driver satisfaction macro" back then - I was safe, on time, had plenty of miles and was not micro-managed.
Then 2009-2010 came and changes started to happen:
    - no more paid holidays
    - they freeze pay raises for everyone
    - speed limit was lowered to 60
    - e-logs and qualcomm installed in all trucks
    - Stability and hard brake sensors installed in all trucks.
    - A lot of sitting and waiting for loads with no pay.
    - A little later-ambient tempreture sensors that never worked properly
    - Waiting on the phone long time to solve problems they created
    - Always late for time at home
    - 2000 - 2300 miles a week max

Quit in 2015 making 43 cents per mile bringing home around $750 a week after taxes ( As a single).

Bottom line - get you experience with them and move on - don't expect to retire from Schneider...regional or otherwise...it will never happen

No, I don't work for them any longer. I did save my last paycheck. I did not cash it. I will say the mileage I was paid was close enough to Hub miles that I have no complaint with the per mile pay. The rest of my experience was exactly as I described in my first post on this thread.
