Wait til after you take care of you sons graduation. You can't trust a dispatcher to get you home on a certain day although you might get lucky.

If you're running out of Dallas they will happily let you run nights... Running with Schneider you are at the mercy of the planners, your DBL only steps in when you have a request or an issue with the run.

I hardly ever bump docks, it's about once or twice a week as regional. How about people who don't know what they're talking about keep their misinformation to themselves.

I'm not needing certain days home to get things together , the only day I will really need is graduation day I wouldn't wait for the actual day I need but several days before that day tell them so that way if they start trying bs I have time to set it straight or drop the truck off and quit because no job is more important than the family I have left.

I knew exactly how you feel. In the years 1977, 78 and 79 I spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years on the east coast. I lived in calif then. It was the loneliest time in my life. I didn't know a sole. Plus those were some bad winters those years.

If you need to be somewhere that important, Sni will route you to a terminal and get you a rental car. If you put in your home time request they will get you home.

They will not get you home.
Put in your TAH request or not ..the load you are hauling is always more important that a person hauling it.
I experience it myself and guit after 8 years with them. Becouse of that very issue - asked to be home on the specific date....6 months in advance ..and been told to deliver it or be terminated.
I delivered it then got home
    Then quit...
I was working out of Carlisle back then...
Glad that I quit - got a much better company to drive for now

From what I've gathered on the forums it's a good idea to put your time at home request in well ahead of when you need it and to make the start date for your time at home the day before you need it that way if something gets screwy you're still on time for the day that you actually need. But I don't feel like I'm just describing that quite properly
