If the company you are trying to work for rejects you for the accident wait one more year, most companies forgive accidents in the third year, again, as long as you keep your record squeaky clean.

You shouldn't have any problems at all finding a job... 1 accident for driving to fast for conditions with no injuries isn't much to get excited about... I believe companies go back 3 years on your accident history so in a little more than a year you won't have anything...

Don't get all shook up over a couple of nasty replies here. Not all of us are perfect. I'm thinking you won't have too much trouble getting hired, because of this accident. Particularly if your record is clean. So if you do have trouble getting hired, look elsewhere for the problem. (Not that I think you will have a problem. . .)
I believe the biggest question here, is did you learn something from it? There are darn few drivers with a perfect record, (despite what some folks will claim, after all this is the internet, and anyone can claim anything they like.) Everybody makes mistakes, intelligent folks learn from their mistakes, (and the mistakes of others.)
    Good luck to you!

I absolutely did learn from it. I was 18 going on 19 I believe at the time and was just kinda nieve & ignorant to paying close attention to driving. Now im very very conscious about watching my surroundings, keeping distance, taking weather into account etc. I have not ever came close to an accident since.

You'll be fine. And in a couple more years it won't even matter.

Wow people slammed you for no reason. And I wasn't going to reply as i didn't see a reason why you wouldn't be hired until now. It's not your accident that might be a stumbling block. It's your age. I have no doubt that you learned from you experience however insurance companies charge a ton of green to cover drivers of your age and most companies are not willing to pay such a high premium. Do a little research on the web. I'm sure that you can find some companies that do. And don't worry about the Nah Sayers on here. If you want it you will find it. Best of luck to you.

If you are a C student dont expect to get into the top Universities in your State. You will have to go to a community college and improve your grades then the top Universities will let you apply.

If cars if front of you suddenly stopped and you hit their bumper then you was following too close.Start keeping a good safe following distance especially in a semi.It doesn't matter how small it is its still an accident and in this industry that is a big deal. You say this was your only accident in 2 yrs,not every company will give you a chance because its still fairly new but because this is your only mark on your MVR you said then some companies will overlook it.
