How long and how much is Swift training?

    Do you guys know how much I'll be making when I first start out at Swift?

    $300-400 a week for a month.

    That all depends on your mileage. There is no 40 hours per week times a set rate of pay per hour unless you're on certain dedicated fleets.

    Danny, after I got my own truck I made about $300 take home a week for the first couple of months. Now, freight was DEAD SLOW...this is back in early 2009. After 3 mos I was making between $450 and $550 take home pretty regularly. This is with school, insurance, etc etc being taken out and I didn't take any advances either. Advances will eat you up for sure.

    Keep the left door closed as much as possible and you'll make some money, but if freight gets slow you may see some $125 a week paychecks. Spend less than you bring home and you'll be good.

    i went to driving school two years ago and got my class A cdl.I havent drove since.....I contacted swift and they said i dont need a refresher and thats coming from two recruiters.....Im pretty sure Im going to need a refresher...and the school i went to said they will let me have one for free....Now i dont know if they shut down or not but if so then Ill just take a refresher with swift and then go to orientation and 6 weeks with my mentor :) .....As far as I know it wont cost you anything if you get hired on with swift .Good Luck and Good Luck to me too

    Freight is pretty good right now. Only place I hear complaints is Edwardsville KS.
