How long does it take to hire a driver??

On average from application received how long should it take?

How long does it take to get a rental truck also for regular lease?

I'm just a driver and I am growing tired of some recent run ins with carriers that say they want drivers. And this is small carriers.
The last one I went to the interview, after the application was received and then I was told in 2 weeks I could get a drug screen then go to work for a week with the owner, for (Free!) Than I would be told if I were hired.

 

You must be a fairly new driver? Not including the megas. If I apply on Monday, I expect to start NO LATER than the following monday.

 

Not so .
I applied to the carrier about 2 weeks prior. So that's why I ask.
Perhaps I was just given the run around as they may not have wanted to hire me.
Or at least it feels that way.

 

You wont hear back if you are not wanted.

Move on.

 

Two days, tops.. from chat on phone to keys in hand.

 

I can except that I am not wanted.
But I do not care for the big drawn out lie.
If that's the case.

 

I send the driver for the pee test right after the interview. If they go straight there it’s good, if they have an excuse to wait a few days it’s pretty much game over. Normally takes about 5 days to 1 week start to finish meeting someone to them getting on the road.

Any interest in pulling a reefer?

 

I offered to go take drug screen after interview. But truck owner said they will wait till later.
