I Tarped Lil Coils before. No problem. Trying to untarp and fold 3tarps in the wind...ugh. For a 90 pound tarp, it flys rrrreal easy in the wind!
How long does it take to Tarp a Load?

Timed myself today on load of plywood 6' tall. Strapping, padding the ends, and tarping(2-6' drop) took 30 minutes.
bstadele Thanks this. -
I timed myself today.
One lumber tarp pulled off the load, folded and rolled up.
10 minutes.
Now the bungies were off already and it wasn't raining, snowing or blowing and I
wasn't racing anyone.
Just an overweight middle aged man working steady and not whinnying about it. -

I do what I can to make the job as neat as possible, and don't really worry about time, but I also try to do it quickly. My last lumber load, a full deck 7.5ft high took me 1.5hours to strap and tarp. With steel tarps, or just one lumber tarp, I'm usually right around the 20-30 minute mark to tarp. Lately it's been a little longer since it's been hot and I need to take a couple short breaks to hydrate. (Dehydration is devastating).
As far as picking up. I usually park where instructed, pull my tarps out of the way and then pull my securement at which point they start unloading. I am usually finishing putting my last couple straps away or have finished shortly before they are done unloading me. (Bout 30mins-hour) most places.
For tarping in the wind, I looked through our companies load securement rooms for some broken chains. I grabbed those and when rolling out my tarps in the wind, I'll hook a broken chain section to the d rings in each corner which will hold them down long enough to get some bungies on them.
And beer isn't worth having if it's not meant to be savored.barroll Thanks this. -
