Well my age limits me to just the Army apparently, I appreciate what our armed forces do for us, and I appreciate the service and sacrifice soldiers make for us. All my respect goes out to them!!!
I'm just not the type......never really saw myself in uniform, no disrespect to anyone, it's just not for me. Like I said, I give all the respect in the world to those who serve in iniform, it's just a choice I dont think I could make unless we get invaded by north korea or something, and then in that case I'll pick up a weapon and go red dawn on them.
How long does it take..........

I mentioned before, yes I find myself in a bad situation, and no one is to blame but me myself an I. I work hard for what I have, not much, but it is mine. I've never had a thing since my parents died when I was in high school. We were dirt poor to begin with, dad was an alcoholic and never really had much of anything as far as a job goes, mom was disabled from an accident she had when I was a kid, we lived on section 8 and moved around a lot. I spent a year in foster homes, during that year I was getting social security checks for their deaths, but never saw a penny untill I turned 18. When I was 18 they drove me to the courthouse where a judge put me in a halfway house for up to a year, I got the money finally. Long story short, I got out of the halfway house, and had a great job during my 20's. Made good money and had a good time. At age 28 I decided with a then friend to start my own business....well we took a financial beating and by the time I was 31 the business was gone, and I was broke and beaten. I had just started dating my ex, so she introduced me to her dad, he gave me work.........and now here I am.......I have no problem working my butt off once I get into a truck, I also know I need to start saving for my future, and know that sucess is what you put into it.
And yes, while it seems I was a bit lazy, I admit it I was, this has been a wake up call, and for the first time in years I'm ready to make the change.NewNashGuy Thanks this. -

if you haven't heard back from them after a couple days don't be afraid to call them back and inquire about the status of your app.

If you go to a tech college and take a longer course, you can get federal financial aid which also gives you a little extra. Some schools also have emergency scholarships and ways to help students succeed in school.

As these trucking companies do background checks on applicants, do they check credit scores and see if people are on any kind of public assistance? Checking a credit score, as an example, MAY give a company an idea of how responsible a person has been or has not been...?
