Another question is there a big difference between between flatbed a and normal trailers. I applied to this company called Melton that sounded pretty good but I'm not sure if I'd need more training for that

Flatbed companies will train you for load securement. Maybe a few hours training or 1 or 2 days, then hit the road with trainer.

I'm hoping to avoid having to got through this all together if i can convince the guy I went out with to mentor me a bit. That's kinda what I'm hoping for
