Thanks for the advice everyone. Looks like we need to do some insurance shopping elsewhere.

I was thinking 5 years. One thing I do know, is the clock dont start until they get there money. So if the fine didn’t get paid for 2 yrs then it would still be there.

citations stay on your record permanently. generally when you fill out an application carriers ask for a 10 year driving history

I just submitted a DOL abstract to this seasonal reefer job I do during spring breakup every yr and found it in my email box. Its a 3 yr. They ask me to sign a release every year, and I just pay the 13.00 online and email the document to them.

depends on the insurance. how far back they go for what type of citations.

Here in California insurance agencies can't penalize you for anything past 3 years any ticket will stay on your record but points drop after 39 months 1 per ticket. And then it doesn't automatically get deleted from your record you have to call the dmv and they will delete it that's after the 39 months had pass .call your dmv and see if they can remove anything past 3 years from your record so it doesn't get used against you.

The length of time on your record is state to state. Illinois is three years except for the court copy, which is life time. That being said insurance companies have a different time limit, once they know about an infraction.

in utah, we're allowed 200 points. YES FOLKS. that's 200 points.

they drop in half if no citation in the first 12 months. gone in the second 12 months.

In Nevada violations stay on you record for 10 years,, certain jobs like school bus drivers in Nevada require a 10 year report, You can get a 3 year report that most companies require,,,
