I asked a guy at Freightliner who waited the longest and he replied that one guy stayed at Frieghtliner for 27 days and didn't even get a hotel or anything.

So finally day 8 they gave him a replacement truck another Freightliner. lol. Well over 400k already on it, he told me he is sick of having to hop on a different truck every 3 or 4 weeks. Also I think he lost some of his cigars.

I've waited 7 days for a dealer to fix the truck but lucky me I was near home so mrs allniter came and took me home so I didnt care how long it took:biggrin_2559:. OTOH, Dec 21 I hit a deer on I 77 in NC, the front of my truck was destroyed, (#### plastic Volvo!). I was delivering in Statesville then picking up a preload home for Christmas. Naturally the shop said it would be awhile what with the Christmas & New Years holidays. The company offered me a bus ticket home, but I said no way was I doing the Greyhound ride again. I talked them into renting me a car using the excuse that I had too much stuff to take home to ride a bus. The owner of company called my cell and said "Merry Christmas, Enterprise will be there shortly to pick me up to go home and come back. The owner was an old school driver, started out with two log trucks back in the 1940's and grew the company to 150 18 wheelers:biggrin_25514:. A great guy, you could walk into his office anytime to chat, RIP Mr Mac.:biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513:

and this is why otr money is a joke, why should you lose a days pay because they can not keep thier truck running.

they should be paying you a full day pay or flying you home for time off.
