Truck operating expense is one thing, but I like to consider what my living expenses are. For instance, am I supporting a family (food, clothing, mortgage, car payment , medical bills etc) OR, am I single with no rent/mortgage/family, just me and my mutt. My point being, if I make $75 grand a year, supporting only myself VS supporting a family makes a huge difference.

yes that variable is conciderd, but my question is 3 Yrs is that enuf time to average what to expect with posible high expences. I am greateful for all the advice offered, I know that one can;t predict the future but one can prepare for the future. if my truck cost 300K new + repairs ins and other expences averaged to $$$ per Yr w/10% on income gross to save for business groth.

the Debate on full price to discounts, I am greatful for your time and advice, but the Question was on how much time to average expecyed expences per yr. with putting some $$$ aside for the large expences / growth. liveing expences will come from butgeted salery...
is 3 yrs enuf time to average $ per yr including expected inflation?

    Hi,

I waited 3 yrs to get my first truck...I was 24...long hauled and saved up and bought a ole pete from a guy out in NM.

I did better the second time around when I got some office experience in the trucking ind...Knowing how to do all the business taxes and legalization comes in handy.

I asked and asked and asked some more questions constantly (and still do) from o/o..and sometimes it takes a few trys but dont give up on your dream..Im on my third round and still have snaggs.

Good luck in all your travels:)...Cinnamon
