I've considered that possibility, but I have seen other drivers stuck here at the terminal too.

I've sat waiting for a load as much as 3 days in my time out here.hasnt happened often, but there comes a point, regardless of where you work, that you'll end up taking a punch like that. I've had to sit at a few different companies for different reasons. I've worked for small companies that relied only on broker freight. They had me sitting til they got a top dollar load. Some companies are so big that some drivers will end up starving during lean times. Too many trucks in the fleet. In my opinion, I don't think it would hurt some of the megas to downsize. If you work for a company that has regular routes and the out and back model, it can on occasion bite you in the ### if you don't get back quick enough, especially on Friday. You mentioned you're in Atlanta.....what driver hasn't got stuck there? Lol. That's one of those cities that has a lot of capacity, and sometimes that can cause some sitting.

Can always try to ask for new dispatcher and see how that goes.

There is always loads there but It's been abnormally cheap lately, especially for Van.
Could be company loses less money sitting you than hauling one of them cheap loads.

I doubt a new dispatcher would fix anything. Mine seems like nothing more than a customer service rep for planning and I'm pretty sure that's by design. You could replace all the "fleet managers" here with a call center in India and I don't think it would make much of a difference.

But I think you're right about them sitting drivers because it's cheaper right now. That's my leading theory at least.

There’s a ton of great paying loads out of that area. I got $6k out of Macon tomorrow going to WA…14k lbs.

It was one of many that were available..Your company doesn’t give two craps if you sit. Your dispatcher left early on Friday and you are definitely not on his mind, lol.

Just toss the keys in the trash and call a Uber

As a matter of fact, my dispatcher did leave early on Friday. LOL

But I'd like to at least wait until my layover is in the system and payroll is locked before I decide anything.
